"Figment",
a Catalina 320 yacht, is used for RYA Practical Offshore Sailing Courses
as well as being available for bareboat or skippered charter.
"Figment" is comfortably equipped for 6 crew with hot and cold running water, shower,
freezer etc. She carries Department of Transport Category 2 Safety approval and is
fitted with modern instrumentation including VHF radio, GPS, EPIRB, NAVTEX, etc.
Full safety equipment including liferaft, lifejackets and harnesses are carried on board.
An infatable dinghy allows energetic crew to motor ashore from isolated anchorages.
Visitors who have not previously experienced offshore sailing or who have limited
time will find the day or evening Taster Cruises an excellent introduction to this
invigorating sport.

"Phoenix"
is an exciting TOHATSU 6.1 metre RIB powered by a rugged 90hp engine.
As well as being used for RYA Powerboat Courses up to Advanced Level, "Phoenix" is also
available for up to 6 passengers and crew for high speed cruising in the Firth of Lorne.
Tobermory is little over an hour away in favourable conditions and many other
secluded beauty spots are equally accessible for unforgettable Day Trips with opportunities
for viewing and photographing the varied wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
Marine safety helmets, lifejackets and waterproofs are mandatory and included in
hire charges.

In addition there is a fleet of smaller craft available for hire by the hour,
including:
- Laser dinghies - a favourite training boat for 1 or 2 crew.
- Canoes - completely unsinkable.
- Rowing Boats - our 2 metre boats are fun and easy for a crew of 2 or 3 to handle.
- Dory - for up to 6 crew, with 10hp outboard engine.
The wearing of Lifejackets is mandatory and these are included in the hire fee.
Small craft must remain within the designated sailing area and will always be supervised
by an Assistant Instructor in a Safety Boat.

Lochaber Watersports is also a
RYA Recognised Teaching Establishment for shorebased theory courses at Day Skipper
and Coastal Skipper/Yacht Master level. These are intensive 5 Day Courses which are
run as required throughout the year.
The courses are held in pleasant surroundings and the proximity to the Centre means
that any doubtful theoretical points can easily be practically explained aboard an
appropriate boat.

Travel Directions: Lochaber Watersports is ideally positioned on the shores
of Loch Leven in the grounds of The Isles of Glencoe Hotel, and is signed on the main
Glasgow to Fort William A82 trunk road. Only an hour's drive from Oban, and less than
half an hour south of Fort William.
