Golf Courses
Opened in June 1996, the championship length parkland course at Loch
Ness has earned a reputation as being an excellent test of golf for players
of all abilities. Although you will find generous fairways and large greens,
there is no shortage of challenges - not least on the putting surfaces that
have been described as some of the best in the Highlands.
The construction of the 9-hole par 29 Family Course coupled with a
reduction in the length of the main course opens up the facility to more
young people, beginners, ladies and senior golfers who found the existing
layout a little challenging.
That is not to say that the existing layout has disappeared. Clever design
of the new holes incorporating the old course and using areas that were
out of play means that should the need arise the Old course is available
for play at any time.

Driving Range
Opened in 1989, the Fairways
floodlit driving range features two ball machines, has 20 covered bays - and
is regarded as one of the best practice facilities in the region.
The target area is large and varied with many different options for
constructive practice. Every bay lists the exact distances to each target so
you can really analyse your game.

Other Activities
Even though we are known for superb hospitality and a friendly welcome,
Fairways is more than just a golf course. We also offer a range of
activities for all the family to enjoy.
Similar to the game of bowls in concept, the game of Pétanque is played
with metal boules over level but ‘rough’ ground. Formed in 1997, the
Inverness Pétanque Club’s
6-lane piste is one of the best in the Highlands. Non-members
can hire all the equipment from Fairways.
Inverness and District Indoor Bowling Club have sited their 6-lane rink
adjacent to the club. For information or bookings please call 01463
235 550 or email Bowling.IADIBC@btopenworld.com
Woodland Trails provide a great pastime for non-golfers - with
no fewer than three forest walks ranging from 1.8km to 3km
in length. Starting from the clubhouse, each affords stunning
views of the City, the Moray Firth – and the surrounding
countryside. All walks are on pathways or tracks, which in some
parts are suitable for disabled people and wheelchair users.
