The main skiing areas are Glencoe south of Fort William, Aonach Mor (Nevis Range) at Fort William, Cairngorm near Aviemore, Glenshee between Perth and Braemar, and The Lecht between Ballater and Tomintoul.
 
The skiing season is generally from late December to April, depending on the weather. You will also find a few artificial ski slopes which are open throughout the year.
