The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is a unique experience. Join the reindeer herder out on the hillside where the reindeer graze in their natural environment. These quiet, friendly animals are a delight to all ages.
Learn the facts and fiction about reindeer by spending time at the centre where you can visit Santa's Bothy, his reindeer paddocks and our unique reindeer shop.
During our guided visits, wander freely among the friendly reindeer stroking and feeding them.
During the months of November and December some of our big friendly male reindeer go out and about to various venues, as far south as Exeter and as far north as Thurso, delivering Father Christmas, to the delight of all ages. Keep your eyes open - they may come to your town. But don't worry kids, they will be back home in plenty of time for the big night - Christmas Eve!
Open: All year, 7 days, 10am-5pm. (Closed Christmas, New Year's Day). Visits to the herd daily: 11am, all year; 11am and 2.30pm, May to September.
Stout footwear and suitable outdoor clothing advisable all year. Wellington boot hire available. Visits weather permitting during the winter.
Travel Directions: East on the B970, 6 miles from Aviemore.
